As energy prices continue to rise, why aren’t US businesses doing everything they can to reduce their electricity consumption?

NexRev’s President & COO, Chris Haidet, is eager to help customers with solutions to reduce energy consumption and save money.

Energy prices have risen for all American businesses – and are expected to continue to rise for years to come. Utility Dive’s reporting on Bank of America’s analysis is a sobering read: US electricity prices rise again as AI, onshoring may mean decades of power demand growth.

According to BoA, the year-over-year inflation rate for electricity prices reached 5.9% in May, up from 3.8% in January with “electric vehicles and heat pumps driving consumer electricity demand higher, while industrial onshoring and the rise of data centers and artificial intelligence are also putting upward pressure on prices”.

As you can see in the following chart, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has projected “Prices for wholesale power are likely to trade higher next year [2025] in most regions of the United States as a result of higher natural gas prices.”

But, not every business is being pro-active and adopting proven technologies to reduce the amount of energy needed to operate their buildings.

Why not?

As a business leader working in the energy sector, Chris spends most of his day speaking with customers, prospective customers and partners about how the team at NexRev is already helping organizations of all sizes to save hundreds of millions of dollars and kWh – reducing costs, boosting profitability, and eliminating billions of tons of CO2 emissions.

Chris points to how NexRev recently helped a gas and convenience store customer as a prime example of how large organizations can do better. With over 500 locations throughout the US, the NexRev Freedom EMS/BMS is managing the demands of multi-site facilities across a national footprint to provide savings in excess of $36 million.
