At NexRev we made an early decision to keep the design and manufacture of our Energy Management systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) in the USA. The team at our HQ in Dallas and our other locations across the nation are 100% focused on reducing energy waste in commercial buildings.
This is a strategy that has proven to be correct given the problems in the global supply chain.
Manufacturers around the world are faced with problems that are here to stay for the next few years - including issues with reduced flows of raw material and parts, increased manufacturing times - and ultimately longer lead and delivery times
Meanwhile shortages of freight capacity - both ocean and air - have pushed up shipping costs with the pandemic also extending port waiting times.
In May CNN cited research data from Project44, which tracks global supply chains, which “showed that shipment delays between China and major US and European ports have quadrupled since late March, when China shut down the city of Shanghai, which has the world's busiest container port.
By the end of April, ships from China to Seattle were taking four days longer than expected to arrive, up from about one day the previous month”.
Combine these delays with the most expensive freight costs ever, and things are looking grim for businesses that export and import goods – and the other businesses and consumers that want and need them.

NexRev was established in 1994 as a consulting firm and systems integrator to install Energy Management Systems. Early on, we created a series of innovations that help our customers manage energy, reduce consumption – and reduce costs. We’ve been building on these ever since, delivering an advanced portfolio of energy management solutions to our customers.
DrivePak and Freedom are our two flagship products to reduce and monitor energy consumption. They are widely deployed by blue chip companies. including Home Depot, Lowes, Floor & Décor, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ross, Burlington, At Home, Academy Sports, Pilot/Flying, Bank of America – and movie theaters across America such as Cinemark, Regal, AMC, and CMX.
Our 47,000 sqft headquarters is located in Plano, TX with a team of 200 and a thriving 20,000 sqft R&D lab.
We have largely avoided the supply chain problems experienced by our competitors – and other companies across all sectors - by:
- Making our products in the USA.
- Maintaining all design and manufacturing within NexRev’s USA facilities.
- Sourcing as many of the materials required to produce Freedom and DrivePak as possible from within the USA.
- Maintaining the right levels of stock and inventory, both for new deployments and for any field replacements.
This approach means that we are largely independent of overseas shipments or long supply chains that can be easily disrupted.
One final advantage for our customers across the USA is that, because we can produce Freedom and DrivePak very quickly, we are able to offer excellent discounts for bulk orders.
